For me, creating work is the greatest way to celebrate and commemorate what it means to be human, to be "us." Call it what you will--innovation, progression, evolution--this odd human trait of making something in order to see what lies beyond it and proceeding to the next one and the next drives my creative work. In my paintings I discovered a "woven" image or "mark" in my search to create something that I see as efficient and visually innovative but, most of all, infinite in possibility. This technique reflects my desire to constantly evolve, to push in new directions the nonverbal language of mark making, which has obsessed me since my childhood. Read more.
