Tracey Adams’ abstract encaustic paintings combine large color fields with rhythmic lines and organic shapes. These contrasting elements are balanced in a range of compositional structures. Working in encaustic, Adams builds up layers of melted wax to create surfaces of luminous, saturated, textured color. Her paintings are densely worked, the process for her being in a space of constant exploration and re-negotiation.
