"My style combines the beauty of naturalistic representation with the expressive elements of abstraction. Often times a single painting may transition between the realms of representation and abstraction. I like this style, Semi-abstract Expressionism, because it gives me the freedom to add emotions, feelings and ideas to what I see. I express these with meaningful lines, forms and colors. I use bold strokes, dabbles and scribbles to represent the emotional activities of the psyche. Umbrellas, bells, flags and Elephants represent the Hindu festivals of my childhood, very happy occasions indeed, and are therefore a visual representation of joy and happiness.""
