Warhol's name is synonymous with the Pop Art movement, coming to national prominence in the 1960s. Famous for saying that everyone will have their "15 minutes of fame," his 15 minutes have stretched into their 5th decade as the most famous practitioner of the avant garde visual art movement. Besides his well known works of Marilyn Monroe, Campbell Soup Cans, and more, he was also a key figure in the underground music scene of the late 60s, producing and managing the highly influential rock band The Velvet Underground.
