When I reflect upon my early childhood memories of the joy and excitement I experienced when creating simple images with my crayons and coloring books, I have come to realize that painting has always been an important part of my DNA. I was initially drawn to everyday images and their varied shapes and textures. Understanding the dance between shapes, tones, color, edges and line gives me the feel of the painting. My early training in Ballet took me deeper into the beauty of the human form through the development of a greater understanding of the anatomy. This knowledge of the anatomy of all creatures has taken my work to many forms of life and especially our furry and feathery friends. Through my art I have found a connection to nature and the world around us. While my work in figures and still life’s are indeed varied, they are joined in the common medium of oil through its application with my distinctive brush strokes and mastery of color. Painting is my love and I try to share that with those who enjoy my work as well. Art has always made life and the world better.
