John Grande was born in 1969 in Huntington Long Island. He attended the School of Visual Arts in 1995 earning his BFA. After graduating Grande, he moved to NYC and worked as a professional C printer at several high end photo labs in NYC. There he had the opportunity to print for high end fashion, music & fine art photographers likes Miles Aldrich, Jack Pearson, Annie Leibovitz, Marc Baptiste, Giles Benison, Jerry Schatzberg & Mick Rock. This practice highly influenced his personal work, and allowed him to become part of their process & visually understand the techniques of creating a successful image. After the loss of his mother in 2002 to Asbestos cancer, Grande then realized that life is short too short to continue working in the printing business, so he left that to focus his energy on painting. Since then, he has amerced himself in creating over 360 paintings through the photo realistic technique. His artwork explores culture, and represents the history of art & culture of our times.
