Renowned International Artist Michael Misha Kennedy has works around the world and in many private and public collections. In 2022 he was awarded the highest accolades for his work in the art community by the CA State Senate and the Sacramento City Council. Featured on PBS he has been known as the Master of Acrylics. He cleverly incorporates a variety of mediums including paper, fiber, oil pastel, ink and metallic powder into his dozens of layers in his bright eye catching modern abstracts. Michael was classically trained at the University of Oregon and has painted in numerous styles but he says he particularly enjoys abstracts. Michael turns the works as he paints to maintain a sense of energy and movement. Besides his vibrant abstracts Michael enjoys painting modern landscapes, contemporary, still life and the occasional portraits too. Michael had the opportunity before she passed to paint the famous actress Elizabeth Taylor. Michael is not afraid to take traditional art values and techniques to combine in new ways. His use of layering and complex composition has earned him numerous accolades. Over the last 25 years he has strongly believed in paying it forward by donating works to public collections, auctions and has volunteered as the Head Judge for the Fine arts divisions at the CA State Fair and Sacramento County Fair. He sat on the Race and Cultural Equity Task Force for the Metropolitan Arts Commission to help them draft their diversity statement which was also adopted by the city of Sacramento, CA. As a Native Kumayaay and LGBTQ Artist I feel it is important to be able to have equity in the arts where we can also share our story and culture in these precious platforms.
