For Brent Jackson, balance is present in each element of his work. He layers, collages, and paints to create a harmony between opposites: organic and geometric, smooth and textured, dark and light, handmade and digital. Bold, saturated colors mingle with muted tones, resulting in works that are vivid and energized.Combining digital art with traditional media, he focuses on how the qualities of each medium can complement one another. As he moves between these materials, he creates a richly layered abstract field while maintaining a crisp clarity to his expressions. His process allows for both planning and uncontrolled exploration, yet another spectrum of opposites to find unity in.Brent Jackson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He continued his education at Kendall College of Art and Design where he earned his Master of Art Education. In addition to being an abstract mixed media artist, Jackson is an art educator in Holland, Michigan.
