Finding beauty in some of the quietest moments, Myer’s watercolor paintings embody his desire to recreate the captivating quality of the places he discovers. Joining vivid hues with the transparent quality of watercolor, Myers produces crisp, naturalistic scenes that feel familiar and idyllic.Myers attributes light as a critical part of how he constructs an image. He intends to “create a vibrancy in the image that helps augment the natural light, leaving a more vivid impression. The careful observation of light reveals colors, patterns and values on the subject that help make a more believable representation of the original experience.”Stan Myers graduated from Calvin University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He has exhibited his work throughout Michigan and Chicago and received several awards for his work. Myers currently resides in West Michigan, finding inspiration for his work in the same region. He finds the area to be an extraordinary place to explore and live with a vast diversity of interests from coastline to farmsteads and all the nuances between.
