The youngest son of an art dealer, I grew up in a home with walls covered in paintings and modern tapestries. Having an older sister who had already become a successful artist, my first creative love was actually music, in particular, the guitar. I played in "bar bands" for years, and for a decade even built and sold my own line of custom guitars and basses. It was only later in life I discovered my love for painting, which meant I didn't receive much at all in the way of formal training. Instead, I learned from hours spent soaking up techniques from DVDs, and YouTube, as well as practicing painting copies of masterworks. Though initially influenced by the impressionists, my choice of subject matter and mood differs considerably, and my color palette leans a bit stronger. Night cityscapes and visions of Italy from the time I spent living there in my twenties, as well as the female figure are typically my favorite subjects.
