Betty Walser EMWalser, known as Betty to her friends, comes from a creative background. She was born and lived in Japan until her family moved to Virginia at the age of nine. Her Mom was classically trained in several Japanese Arts, and she inherited her sense of adventure and travel from her Dad. She started painting about 20 years ago with various teachers who gave her a broad range of arts education. Betty stays active with the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance and has shown in various places around the city, including the Chattahoochee Nature Center, Roswell City Hall, local restaurants, and home decor shops. "My goal is to capture a single moment in time, celebrating the moment in its beauty. I savor these “memory moments” consciously noting how that occasion feels to all the senses. While painting, I try to recall that special day to help me portray that moment on canvas so that I am able to share the full story with the viewer. I enjoy creating excitement in my work but, also try to evoke a sense of calm and contentment in the viewers. I have traveled far and wide enough to realize that the blessings and talents I have acquired don’t just come from my own experiences but from God. My affair with painting has been a constant source of joy and I hope to continue painting for many more years. There is no better feeling for me than losing myself in my work in progress. I hope you will lose yourself as well when you view my art."
