Susan Ker-Seymer, a New York native, is an Atlanta-based artist who creates paintings, works on paper and collaborative installations that explore the oppositions of certainty and impermanence and perfection and insufficiency. Her abstract works invite ambiguity and complexity and in the studio, oppositional thoughts are realized in exploration of color contrasts, arrangement and layering of buoyant shapes, shifts in scale, color fields and fossilized surfaces. Her crowded compositions challenge viewers to make sense of relationships poised on the edge of disorder or the beginning of a new world. Susan’s educational background includes professional workshops at Anderson Ranch, Snowmass, CO, BFA level work at Atlanta College of Art, Atlanta, GA and AA degrees in both Fashion Design and Graphic Design. She has exhibited work in galleries and art spaces in the US and UK.
