Veena grew up in India and has called the US home for over 25 years. Drawing and painting were always my favorite hobbies. She fell in love with watercolor after seeing some stunning brush paintings at a local restaurant. After several years of learning, art took a backseat to focus on being a mom. She returned to watercolor painting after quitting her full-time job and has honed her skills ever since. Veena's work is influenced by the beauty in nature and India's vibrant colors and cultures. Her creations have been well-received in several juried and local shows, holiday shops, and one-time events, and she has been fortunate to win some awards along the way. In addition to her work here, you can view Veena's art in person at the Smith-Gilbert Gardens gift shop and The Art House Gallery in Acworth. Veena is a member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and Acworth Arts Alliance. She continues to study the craft under master watercolorist Kathy Rennel Forbes, and has been fortunate to be mentored by other outstanding artists she admires (Elizabeth Carr and Cathy Green, among others.) She is very thankful for all the opportunities and supportive local art community.
