Gwen Manfrin lives and works in California, inspired by the ancient oaks that grow along the small creek beside her studio. She has a Bachelor’s of Art from UCLA, with a focus on drawing and painting. Early work was primarily portraits in pastel, many of which hang ina number of public and private collections, including: McGraw Hill Company, Nordstrom Corporation, SunMicrosystems, Papercone Corporation and Business Week. As well, Gwen has exhibited and painted murals in many local hospitals. Currently, continuing with the figure as her focus, Manfrin explores her subject through graphite and watercolor and has exhibited her work in galleries, nationally, and at the San Francisco Art Fair, The Dallas Art Fair, Santa Fe Art Expo, Red Dot, Miami/Basel. Her workalso appears in many television and movie productions. She is represented by Andrea Schwartz Gallery, San Francisco, Art Pic, Los Angeles, 33Contemporary, Miami, and Water Street Gallery, Douglas, MI. Her museum exhibitions include the San Francisco MOMA: “Women’s History Month”, Napa Valley Museum of Art, “HERStory”, the Crocker Art Museum, and most recently, the de Young Museum, San Francisco, CA, in the “Bay Area Open”, juried by the late artist, Hung Lui.
