Mexican contemporary artist Hugo Rivera has always loved to create art. Luckily, his family supported the young art prodigy. Upon discovering his son sketching a huge mural on his bedroom wall (the album cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’), the only question his father had was, “is there anything else you need to make that?” While studying English as a Second Language after relocating to southern California, Hugo found himself staring raptly into Fine Arts classrooms, eventually enrolling himself. He started his own mural business and has been dubbed the world’s first post-modern fresco artist. Inspired by the master Rufino Tamayo, Rivera began creating his vibrant, abstracted figures on canvas. He is collected world-wide, and resides in Laguna Beach.
