Native to Nashville, Tennessee, Justin grew up with an affinity towards photography. Specifically, his interest was in the study of image manipulation and constructed reality through both traditional darkroom and digital means. He found a fondness towards the art of storytelling through visuals, both still and moving. After graduating college, and further study with fashion and commercial photographers, Justin took a unique journey through the music business. At twenty-six he became the Director of Creative Services and Video Commissioner for BigMachine Records, one of the most successful independent record labels in modern times. During his tenure, he oversaw the creative aspects of Taylor Swift’s music videos, photoshoots, and album design, including her highly acclaimed 1989 Album. Since exiting the label business, he continues to extend his reach within the music community— establishing himself as a music video director, filmmaker, and documentarian. Over his career, Justin has been involved as a producer or director of over two-hundred and fifty music videos as well as several films and documentaries. His entire catalog of video work, with which he has been a part of as Creative Director, Director, or Producer, has garnered over Fifteen Billion views on streaming platforms alone. While continuing his trajectory through the film industry Justin has re-established his passion for fine art photography. His decades of combining practical and digital imaging have led the way to his latest series of work entitled STUFFED. The photo series, which incorporates his personal childhood stuffed animals, deconstructs in order to challenge inner personal trauma from his adolescence. Through the use of familiar objects, it’s an attempt at normalizing the conversation of that repressed trauma.
