French Alexis Bruchon was born in the middle of the Auvergne volcanoes and is currently based in Paris, France. He studied Art History in Clermont-Ferrand and received a masters degree in graphic design at L'École de Condé in Lyon preceding his career as an illustrator. Bruchon has since worked mainly in Great Britain for magazines such as House & Garden, of which he is a regular contributor. He's illustrated several children's books, including The King and the Christmas Tree, Lilibet: The Girl Who Would Be Queen, and The Hundred and one Dalmatians. Among his influences are 20th century illustrators such as Edmond Dulac, Miroslav Sasek, Leon Bakst, Tove Jonasson and Charles Addams. Bruchon directed two feature films of a proposed trilogy: La Femme aux Chaussures Leopard and Les Yeux Dessous, with the third installment targeted for release in 2024.
