Copper, a native of Georgia and Litchfield County resident did not originally pursue a career in art. However, her artistic side showed itself in many ways until in 2000, when she was formally introduced to the art world. Drawn to what she considers the “misunderstood” animal, much of her work centers around burros and bats. Tritscheller approaches her subjects from all angles, sculpting them both as animals, as well as anthropomorphically. She is constantly pushing the barrier between animal and human. Her body of work continues to grow and can be found in galleries in the US, China and Taiwan.“The Earth without bats would be a very different and much poorer place. Without bat pollination and seed-dispersing services, local ecosystems could gradually collapse. The Baobab tree in Africa depends almost exclusively on bats for pollination..called the African Tree of Life, it is critical to the survival of the planet’s richest ecosystems..without bats, the Tree of life would die out.” –batconservation.com COPPER TRITSCHELLER2018 Studying glass casting for bronze applications2000-2008 apprenticed and worked with exhibiting sculptors and foundries in the United States and Thailand learning bronze casting process, and the art of chemical patinationPhilosophy Major at Georgia State UniversityART FAIRS & COMPETITIONS2020: Coconut Grove Art Festival | February: Coconut Grove, FL2020: Gasperilla Festival of the Arts | March: Tampa, FL2019: Coconut Grove Art Festival | February: Coconut Grove, FL2018: Deland Fall Festival of the Arts | November: Deland, FL2018: Art Prize | Sept: Grand Rapids Public Museum, Grand Rapids, MI 2018: Gasparilla Festival of the Arts | March: Tampa, FL2018: Coconut Grove Arts Festival | February: Coconut Grove, FL2018: ACA Images: A Festival of the Arts | January: New Smyrna, FL2017: Deland Fall Festival of the Arts | November: Deland, FL2017: Winter Park Autumn Art Festival | October: Winter Park, FL2017: Art Formosa | June: Philippe Staib Gallery at Zhongshan Cultural Park, Taipei, Taiwan 2016: Shanghai Art Fair | October : Philippe Staib Gallery2016: Manifest Gallery Art Competition Flight | January: Cincinnati, OHSOLO EXHIBITIONS2020 Solo Show | Arts on Douglas | New Smyrna, FL 2019 Solo Show | Philippe Staib Gallery | Taichung Taiwan 2017 Philippe Staib Gallery | Taichung, Taiwan2017 Giacobbe Fritz Fine Art Gallery | Santa Fe, NM2015 Giacobbe Fritz Fine Art Gallery | Santa Fe, NM 2014 Philippe Staib Gallery | Shanghai, ChinaPUBLICATIONSSouthwest Art Magazine | “Copper Tritscheller” July 2015Shanghai Daily | “American Sculptor Sees Beauty in Bats” Dec 2014PUBLIC INSTALLATIONSGarrulous Art Foundation Inc, | Palm Coast Center Sculpture Garden |Palm Coast FLAWARDSThird Place Sculpture: 2020 Coconut Grove Art Festival Award Of Merit: 2019 Coconut Grove Art FestivalFirst Place Sculpture: 2018 Coconut Grove Art Festival Award of Merit: 2018 Deland Fall Festival of the Arts Award of Commendation : 2018 ACA ImagesAward of Distinction: 2017 Deland Fall 2021 Solo Show | Arts on Douglas | New smyrna, FL
