Luke Anderson is a wildlife and landscape painter based in Utah, inspired by all the places he happens to find himself. Largely a self taught artist, Luke's passion for the subjects he now paints was furthered through his time at the University of Wyoming where he received a BA in American Studies/ Environment & Natural Resources. Now an oil painter, Luke's style has elements of earlier days as an artist using collage and acrylic layering. A unique style has emerged from Luke's continual urge to keep evolving and not settle for one way of creating and capturing landscapes and wildlife. He uses various tools and techniques that that give a strong sense of continuity between his pieces and allow him to achieve various textures and finishes. Masking tape, palette knifes, brushwork, sandpaper and experimental rigid tools for reductive methods of painting are some of the tools Luke uses to both add and remove paint from the canvas to create his desired effect.
