Kirsten holds a BA in English with a minor in Studio Art from the University of Virginia. After over a decade as a professional photographer, she took up oil painting in the early years of motherhood, enjoying the slower, more contemplative process it affords and inspired by the transcendent beauty of the natural world. She's interested in exploring the relationship between color, form, texture and movement. Her paintings tend to be floral and landscapes, depicting places important to her family, primarily the rolling hills of Virginia and the coast of Maine. She is grateful to call RVA her home, where she lives with her husband, three energetic boys, two guinea pigs, and an elderly golden retriever.,
