Joshua Redwine is a former civil engineer turned photographer. Realizing that engineering wasn’t a fulfilling career, Redwine set out on a new path to capture nature at its most remarkable. Growing up in Lincoln NE and inspired by greats such as Ansel Adams, Gordon Parks and Edward Weston, Redwine captures the very essence of emotion that a serene landscape inspires in all of us. Redwine’s art uses a blend of colors, movement, and textures to create a seamless masterpiece that many find to speak to their very soul. Artist Statement There is beauty in the mundane, the ho hum, the everyday things that we often pass by having seen them ten thousands times. Take another look and you might see something incredible. My philosophy is that there is always something to see even in your own backyard. My work is predicated in making simple everyday things worthy of a second or perhaps third glance. Sometimes it’s urban, sometimes it's a simple object that the light hits just right. A chair, an old car rotting in the tall grass, or perhaps a quant scene on a lazy summer day. I will use whatever is nearby to depict the state of the human emotions that we all face as we progress through the trials of everyday life. Through the images captured through my lens I attempt to express in photographs the state of the human struggle as we face life altering events. These are images that will make you feel what we all feel which I believe is the common bond that unites us all. Come with me. Let me show you something beautiful.
