Prior to showcasing his art in galleries, André Saraiva gained recognition as Monsieur A in graffiti circles. Saraiva played a key role in the early Parisian graffiti scene, collaborating with figures like Space Invader and Zevs. He became synonymous with his distinctive cartoonish character: a round-headed figure featuring long limbs, with eyes represented by a circle and a cross. This character prominently appeared in Saraiva's early canvas paintings. During the 2000s, Saraiva initiated the "Love Graffiti" project, a performative endeavor involving spray-painting the names of individuals' lovers at locations of their selection. His subsequent creations maintained a focus on line, text, and precise geometry. In 2012, he crafted the expansive installation "Andrépolis," a miniature city reminiscent of Paris and New York, illuminated with neon lights.
