Kristen Dabbs has spent most of her adult life around creative people. With her husband and most of her friends as musicians, Dabbs has often worked behind the scenes. She has spent the past two decades managing her husband's music career and working for various other musicians on top of balancing the delightful chaos that comes with three kids, a dog, and several gerbils. But whether she was waiting in the school pick-up line or organizing a tour schedule, Dabbs has always felt she was an artist. One day, during a rare break in the chaos, Dabbs became fed up with a particularly bare wall in her house. She found some supplies around the house and got to work."My soul came to life. I got lost in the process and painted another, and then another," says Dabbs. "I hesitated ever sharing my art because I didn't want to lose the sacredness of what it meant to me, this new therapy of mine. I put on sermons and music I love and let the Spirit move through me onto the canvas."As Dabbs continued to paint, her artistic expression and unique style began to develop. She soon gained a following on social media that has continued to grow ever since."These paintings are the output of my creative catharsis, the essential part of myself that hasn't been hijacked by duty and obligation," says Dabbs.
