Inspired by her mother’s paintings and sketches, Jill Malouf was drawn to design and art at an early age. Jill spent her childhood in San Antonio exploring the Texas Hill Country, intrigued by the beauty in nature, art and design. Years later, as a lawyer, Jill yearned to express her creative side. She became involved in interior design and landscaping, and then after her mother passed away, completed a series of paintings. Jill’s unique style continues to evolve, inspired by her love of color, texture, depth and how these interact and collide in nature. She studied encaustic wax — an ancient art form rich in texture, sheen and layers — while on a month-long art sabbatical in Santa Fe, New Mexico to expand her techniques. Jill’s work was selected for a statewide juried art exhibition at a prominent Dallas gallery in 2019. Her pieces are also found in residential and commercial collections, including in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dallas, Texas, Aspen, Colorado, and Bozeman, Montana. When not in the courtroom, Jill spends her time in front of a canvas, creating paintings alongside her three Australian Shepherds and husband Carter.
