There is a rhythm that exists here on the farm. Beginning with sunrise and the sounds of nature awakening. My art is a reaction to this sense of place. Whether I’m in the studio, tending to the animals or the land, it all influences the art I create. I bring this to the canvas, transforming fabric and collage into compositions that convey an emotion or place. I use the fabric to depict the fragile balance between nature and our everyday lives. Nature's dynamic color demands my attention and is portrayed in subtle glimpses on the canvas. The fabric is dyed and applied as a collage using upcycled water from the paint buckets. The sense of being is sitting in a space that I nurture--and it nurtures me.
