Gib Neal had no idea what he was in for when he married into a Nebraska Sand Hills ranching family. This life changing experience had a huge impact on his way of observing the world and upon his expressive labor of love. His work deals with these first hand experiences; he is fascinated by the countryside and farmland of his home in Adams County. Armed with a camera and sketchbook, Neal finds his fascination in the drama of the sky and the serenity of the land. His landscapes are simulations- a sky-scape from one place and a field from another- reinventing perception of place. Neal received a Bachelors and Masters of Fine Art in painting and printmaking at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and he has taught at Hastings College in Hastings, NE and has received numerous awards for his work.
