Lucia Sarto was born in the Udine area in 1950. In 1961 she won First Prize in a painting competition organized in the Region's Middle Schools. She trained as an artist in Venice and Turin, cities in which she would successfully participate in a number of group shows. It was in Turin, a famous center of Italian artistic and cultural life, that she was recognized as Female Painter of the Year, with the most significant of her "Romantic Realism" paintings figured in a one-woman show at the Palazzo Della Region. She has participated in more than one hundred exhibitions, holding a total of fifty one-woman shows in Italy and abroad.
