Before moving to Sag Harbor, Cindy Mac was a Graphic Designer and Art Director at some of the most prestigious advertising firms in NYC. Throughout her career, she continually was drawn back to her original passion from childhood of painting, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandfather.
Cindy recognizes the honor it is to study with favorite artists and mentors at places like The School of Visual Arts, The Art Student’s League in NY, The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art in Amagansett, The Grenning Gallery and Sag Harbor Fine Arts Center in Sag Harbor and currently The Artist Study in Southampton, NY. Her 2016 painting trip ‘Twelve Days in Tuscany’ with The Artist Study, fulfilled a dream and solidified a renewed focus and commitment to her lifelong passion.
A lover of many media, Cindy is always drawn back to her first love of oils.
She is dedicated to family and friends, managing a successful Landscaping business in Bridgehampton with her husband, and painting florals, still lifes and landscapes inspired by the endless beauty of the East End.
Artist Statement
I am especially passionate about color and light, continue to learn and appreciate that the hand never lies, trusting the marks that communicate as a result. I look to art history, design through the centuries, sentimental objects and simple objects from nature, (my first love as a child was fruit and flowers), landscapes, mentors and fellow artists, the joy and complexity of relationships, and choose to see the world and the truth through this lens. Painting helps me navigate through the often ever-changing landscape of life. My goal is to assimilate the full spectrum of emotions and life experiences, the good, the bad, the ugly, love and loss, to joy and appreciation for life and all that is beautiful in the moment and around us.
