A Rhode Island native, I earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. Since then I’ve worked as a freelance artist, decorative painter, teacher and master painter at a folk art company. In 2006 I made the transition back to painting full time.I’m fascinated with the human form and the way a thought or feeling is suggested in a stance or look. I have a skill and passion for portraiture and paint regularly from a live model which strengthens all my paintings. Water and swimming are constants in my life. And while I may paint from a place of remembered experience, these paintings are stories...told in gesture, palette, and posture of the subject. They are meant to invite the memories, dreams and feelings of you, the viewer.
