Denver born Kevin Weckbach had studied at the Art Students League of Denver for the last decade, and is represented in galleries from Wellfleet, Massachusetts to Texas. Kevin balances his career as a painter with illustration. A graduate of Rocky Mountain College of Art with a degree in illustration, Weckbach recently illustrated a new edition of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights for Micawber Fine Editions, in Boulder. Kevin Weckbach's fluid, poetic, abstract work is a pure expression of the artist himself. Tall and paint dabbed, Weckbach is a man immersed in his field. As a young man he is gaining the attention and respect of the art world. "Of all the painters I know today, no one better exemplifies a well-rounded artist than Kevin Weckbach. He has the skills of a virtuoso, the heart and expression of Van Gogh, and the ability to explore visual vocabulary the way an artist should. Truly a rare combination." -Quang Ho His work is very sophisticated in the intellectual structure, the brush work and how Weckbach leads the viewer with color. Yet the work has spontaneity and freshness and conveys much with simplicity. He is truly an exciting and talented artist.
