Native of Sarthe, Grassin Chombart de Lauwe divides her time between the countryside and Paris where she lives and works. Along with her career as painter she taught graphic arts for years at different high schools. Grassin Chombart de Lauwe graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris and attended prestigious studios of painters such as Nallard, Chapelin-Midy and sculptors as Etienne Martin at the Beaux Arts in Paris. Her work was displayed in important exhibitions and institutions at national and international level, amongst which, Salon d’Automne -Paris, Salon des Artistes Francais – Paris, Salon des artistes Francais Contemporains –Paris, Musee Pouchkine – Moscow, Salon International d’Art Contemporain – Strasbourg 1995, Salon Interational d’Art Contemporain – Geneva 1997. Invited at the “Xeme Prix International d’Art Contemporain” in Monaco the artist won the Grand Prix international. Her pictures are featured in private and public collections such as the Pushkin Museum in Moscow.
