Biography I grew up in Ohio, attended Bowling Green State University and received a bachelor's degree in art education. While teaching art in Michigan I received a masters degree in studio art from Eastern Michigan University. Following thirty years of teaching, I retired and began painting full time, initially in Michigan where I had work in galleries in the Detroit area and later in northern Michigan in the Traverse City area. I began exhibiting my non-objective paintings with Art One after moving to Arizona in 2003. My work is represented in numerous public and private collections. Artist Statement My non-representational paintings come from within and are influenced by my life experiences. I choose not to create an obvious message in my work, but rather to allow the viewer to bring their own perspective to what they see and respond accordingly. Painting brings me joy and I feel renewed each time I create something new and visually exciting.
