Carla Bosch was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. Bosch's palette continues to feel the influence of the purple Jacaranda tree blossoms and other bold colors that flood the South African countryside. After finishing an Interior Design diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, Bosch began to focus her artistic energies on painting. Three of the most prominent art galleries in South Africa have hosted Carla Bosch Solo Exhibitions. The warmth and cheerfulness of her landscapes, coastal and street scenes are true to Bosch's vibrant personality and her giving nature is evident in her liberal use of bright colors. She loves painting en plein air and is equally at home in her studio where Bosch prefers to use images more as reference points rather than images to paint exact replicas. Bosch enjoys giving her impression of the subject matter without referencing pictures. She approaches a blank canvas with absolute creative boldness. This impressionistic approach allows her to paint from the eyes of her soul and maybe this is why there is such powerful emotion in her work. Bosch mostly works with professional acrylics on stretched canvas.Bosch and her family now reside in Texas where she continues to share her impressions of life with brush, palette, canvas and paint.
