David Bates is a photographer based in Austin, Texas. He has grown up in, and been inspired by the area for over 20 years. At a young age he found a deep sense of love and appreciation for nature and the animals that call it home. While embarking on the journey to become an Eagle Scout, David first picked up a camera to document the places he had been to. In 2018, he reinvigorated his purpose to document his experiences and has been fine tuning his creative approach ever since. David combined his love of photography with exploration in order to dive deeper into the winding backroads of the Texas Hill Country, and State Parks focusing on the longhorns, livestock and other animals that he may cross along his path. He has always been a lover of animals and finds these subjects entertaining, and would like to show a side of them that most may never see. When David is not cruising backroads or tracking trails at state parks, he can be found with his three-legged friends, Tux and Crumley, exploring the rivers and lakes in the hill country.
