Lynnette Driver is an artist living in and being inspired by the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. She has recently rediscovered her passion for abstract painting, creating works that alternate between happy, whimsical, and bright with a lot of movement to moodier, darker in color, heavily layered and textured paintings. Lynnette grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Elmhurst College. She discovered her love of art at a young age spending time at The Art Institute of Chicago, where she became interested in Impressionists and Post Impressionists. Her love of the Impressionists still influences her current landscapes, still lifes and abstracts with her use of light, movement, shape, and delineation to more muted, heavily layered and textured paintings. Several of her new series have been inspired by the many surrounding waterfalls that she often hikes or mountain bikes to.
