Born in 1987, Christopher Peter grew up in Phoenix and spent his childhood endlessly doodling in his sketchbooks. As a teenager, his dedication to his craft earned him scholarships to pursue two degrees in drawing and painting from Arizona State University, where he developed a love for figurative painting and abstraction. Christopher’s practice focuses on painting figures and landscapes, often combining and blurring the boundaries between these disciplines in order to establish a personal narrative between the viewer and the work. Unconventional materials like handmade papers, marbled textiles, vintage roadmaps, and repurposed book pages are commonly used in addition to acrylic and oil paints. Each piece of art is painted, varnished, and stretched completely by hand at the artist's studio in the Boston Design Center. When displayed properly the artwork will remain authentic to its original aesthetic intention for generations.
